BLOG QUESTIONS:
1. What Program/s do you use to this and that?
So basically, if you’re just doing some wordart or some simple typography you could just use Paint or any basic editing software. But if you want to edit/photo manipuate/vector/etc. , I prefer Adobe Photoshop. I use Adobe Photoshop 8.0/CS 1. You can you use any versions of Photoshop as long as you know how to use the tools properly. Use the tools you have, don’t buy or download Adobe PS CS5 if you’re just learning. Start with the basics. Read and learn!
”Do you think Tiger Woods was like “Oh men! I wish had a 2000 drivers and I’ll start hitting tee shots well”. NO! He started learning with whatever he had and that’s what you should be doing too as well. I don’t want to encourage the idea that certain programs or latest versions make certain things good.” - Freddie Wong
So if you’re a follower of mine a long time ago.. You probably saw me editing videos. I use Adobe After Effects for composition adding effects. Cinema 4D for 3D things. And Sony Vegas Pro for sequencing and minor cuts.
2. How long does it take you to make a vector or edit a video?
For vector, usually 5+ hours. It’s not continuous and if that work is completely detailed or something I really like. But if it’s simple, 1+ hour.
For video, 10 days or so. It’s a complete video with all the stuff needed. But if I’m just doing some quick clips or testing some stuff it usually takes 3-5 days.
3. Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop?
I believe they are great in their own ways because it really depends on what will you do. I use Illustrator mainly for creating outlines / lineart, or if I want something in ‘vector’ quality while I use Photoshop to edit photos, and do most of my artwork there.
