Blog Design: Update
Halfway done! For the past few weeks, I’ve been thoroughly coding my blog so it would help you navigate quicker and easier. As you can see, the text sizes have been enlarged, as well as the quote section. Also, each post will now have the share buttons (like, reblog, permalink and other social media) below for faster blog interaction, as you may call it. These details are just some of the big changes you will see soon. Can’t wait until I finish it!
Process: Prodigious Life
I just want to share the process of how I made the header of my blog. First of all, if you’re going to design your own header as well, you need to have a direct idea of what you actually want. If nothing gets into your mind, searching off for different designs might help you, at least. Well, that’s how I got mine. In case you want to know what sites I visit to be inspired, here they are:
- From Up North - Graphic Design
- Abduzeedo - Graphic Design / Articles
- Inspiration Feed - Articles
- Behance - Illustration / Typography
As you can see, it’s not that good. I seriously think that I have lost the ability to draw well ever since I stopped doing so when I was 1st year HS! :-( So here’s a tip. If you don’t want to lose your skill/talent, just keep on honing/using them and never miss a day! :-)
The lineart was made in Illustrator while the elements surrounding the typography were made in Photoshop. Here, you will see the flow of how I edited the whole design from the beginning.
Final design and look:
A branding experiment that promotes some of the Philippines’ vivid tourist spots and attractions.
At first, there was only a text of the place where it was located but then I realized it was lacking something - a logo! So, I asked permission if I could use Kuya Jamesboxed’s PHL logo to incorporate it with this experiment. Fortunately, he agreed (Thanks!) So there you go!
I hope you love this as much as I am. Because the Philippines is purely amazing on its own. We just need to take good care and use the natural resources wisely and efficiently.
